Where's the Logic?!

Having just watched Boogeyman 3, I'm rather pissed off.

It basically says this: The boogeyman, a monster, kills anybody that believes in him.

But does that mean if I stop believing in rapists, murderers, psychopaths and terrorists, I can't get raped, murdered, psychopathy becomes non existent and nobody will be killed by terrorists?

What a lame movie?

Well... It was a good movie, it wasn't until the end of the movie that the story line took this logic to the extreme and really started to irk me.

  1. There is some logic in that way of thinking. Do murderers, psychopaths and rapists do a great deal of harm? Of course they do. Is the fear of being hurt by these people harmful as well? Certainly. If we live in fear of these people, if we 'believe' in them, than we're hurt a great deal. If we 'stop believing' in them, our lives can be better. I think that was the point of the movie.
